 2016 Preview 


       Shoals Christian finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Shoals Christian finished sixth in Class 1A region eight with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       No team at Shoals Christian ever lost more games in a season than the eight they lost last year. The last time they lost as many was back in 2008.

       Shoals Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and that needs to pick up if the Flame want to be competitive. They only averaged 16.8 points a game.

       Shoals Christian struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 36.0 points a game.

       Since 2010, Shoals Christian has gone a combined 29-37. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 1A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 17 seasons, Shoals Christian has managed to compile a record of 76-90. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 1A and 230th in the AHSAA.

Jason Anderson leaves Shoals Christian after three seasons with a 9-22 record including 0-1 in the playoffs.


Patrick Malone takes over the football program at Shoals Christian for the fall of 2016. He is a graduate of Deshler where he played football. He has served as an assistant coach at Florence. Last season he was the strength and conditioning coach along with coaching the safeties at Florence.



       The Shoals Christian Flame will play in Class 1A region eight during the 2016 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Flame if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region eight this season. After just 2 wins last year, Shoals Christian will be hoping to become more competitive in the region.

       The Flame open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Collinwood TN on Friday, August 19.
